Gather Summer Camp 2017

weekly July 10th – August 18th, 3:45-5 pm

We have established an amazing line-up for our afternoon summer camp series targeting children 2.5-6 years old. Gather camps survey the creative modalities of movement/ yoga, music, dramatic play, art making, storytelling & the culinary arts; and engage diverse learning styles.

Gather’s Summer camp begins at 3:45 with a healthy, organic snack. A structured activity time runs from 4-4:30/40 with a Gather teaching artist, followed by self-directed play in our imaginative play space, and a closing ritual that begins at 4:55. Each of our professional teaching artists has extensive early childhood experience and a rich background as an artist/teacher in their area of expertise. As our weeks have a special focus and theme, each session will build upon the next and will incorporate new and sequential learning.

We know there are lots of fun things to do in the summer, but also know that the afternoons (whether your little ones are napping or not) can be a challenging time. We have designed our daily camp to offer some fun and structure as you wind down into the evening. So go to the beach in the morning, take a big nap and join us at Gather for meaningful, engaged, creative play (& a snack)!

If you are deliberating and need encouragement from a fellow parent, we are honored to she these thoughts from Majorie Jolles (mom of a child in our registered classes).“My daughter had the best time in her Play With Your Food class at Gather. She produced fantastic original projects that are now part of our permanent art collection at home. More than just a fun time, this class offered my daughter a powerful experience of connection with engaged and intentional instructors. The feedback we got so accurately described her in such loving and specific terms, and showed that the instructors at Gather are real professionals who combine a love of art and children with excellent teaching practice. During this class and after, I noticed increased confidence in my daughter’s creative expression. Gather is a place where my daughter is genuinely seen and nurtured.” We often receive verbal praise, and while we are thankful for her accolades we are so grateful that her daughter had such a meaningful, positive experience.
